The second installment of Noisemakers featured Questlove of the Legendary Roots Crew. To welcome the musical genius to the stage, Peter’s five minute introduction generated the following reaction from Questlove himself:
Hip hop is so over bloated with this whole masculine tough thing that you can’t even offer a tender moment. Hearing that, I thought I was at my own funeral or something. [laughter] I’m just saying, I’m very.. you know, cats usually can shrug it off. I’ve said those words to people that I’ve admired and you know, they shrug it off. They’re very uncomfortable with it.
I really appreciate that intro. That almost made the last 17 years worth it.

The first Noisemakers featured the great DJ Premier and although the weather made it difficult for some to travel, the turnout was great! Check out what XXL said about the event:
Rosenberg and Premier were seated on stage, almost like James Lipton and his guests on Bravo’s “Inside The Actor’s Studio.” Before they started the second half of the event, a question flashed on the projection screen behind them, asking “What Does DJ Premier mean To Hip-Hop?” That question was answered in video format by Common, Kanye West, Erick Sermon and Ludacris, amongst others, who all had words of praise for DJ Premier.
